# 2. Value Layer

The Value Layer underpins the operational and economic aspects of the Hash Network, orchestrated through a series of smart contracts. These contracts ensure the network's integrity, compliance, and efficiency by managing key aspects like provenance, permanence, and prioritization of content.

* **Provenance Smart Contract:** This contract ensures that the origin and history of all content are verifiable and transparent, providing an immutable record of creation, authorship, and attribution.
* **Permanence Smart Contract:** This contract focuses on ensuring long-term data availability through mechanisms like the Permanent Access Fund, which supports ongoing costs for decentralized gateways, and redundancy across multiple decentralized storage solutions to prevent data loss.
* **Prioritization Smart Contract:** This contract helps in organizing and managing the relevance of data, ensuring that the most pertinent and recent content is prioritized for faster access.

By leveraging these layers, the Hash Network provides a robust and scalable framework that enhances decentralized content access, ensuring performance, security, and longevity for all digital assets within the ecosystem.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://hash-network.gitbook.io/hashnetwork/core-concepts-and-architecture/markdown.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
